Is the hotel cheaper on its own website? Your AI assistant can ask BookHotels.direct for any stay a traveller is looking at on Booking.com. We read the hotel’s own booking site, try the public promo codes and free-club prices we know for it, and compare like for like: same hotel, dates and guests, with every difference in room, meal plan or cancellation stated. When Booking.com is cheaper, we say so.

Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
check_direct_price | Give the hotel and its city, check-in and check-out, the number of adults and each child’s age, and the total Booking.com shows for the whole stay with its meal plan and cancellation terms. You get the verdict (cheaper direct, about the same, or Booking.com cheaper), the hotel’s matching offer, one line per difference, what each total includes, a link to book on the hotel’s own site, and a page with the full check. When the hotel’s site can’t be read automatically and no traveller has read the same stay in the last 24 hours, the answer gives the link to the hotel’s own site for those dates and asks the assistant to report what it sees there. |
report_hotel_price | The prices the hotel’s own site showed for the stay (one entry per room or rate: total for the stay, meal plan, cancellation), with the check_id from the check. You get the same honest comparison. Once a report passes our checks, the next traveller asking about that stay gets an answer straight away. |
report_booking | When the traveller says they booked after a check: whether they booked on the hotel’s own website, with the check_id. |
No Booking.com price? Leave it out: you get the hotel’s own price and, when the evidence allows, an estimated saving with its basis (a Booking.com price a traveller saw for the same stay, the typical gap travellers found at that hotel, or the hotel’s own member, code or offer price below its public rate). An estimate is always labelled as one.
In Claude and ChatGPT the answer shows as a card with both prices or the estimate, the hotel’s offer, and a button to book on the hotel’s own site.
Try it
“I’m looking at Hotel Calipolis in Sitges on Booking.com, 5–7 March 2027, two adults, €330 with breakfast and free cancellation. Is it cheaper on the hotel’s own website?”
How it works
- Honest either way. A saving is shown only for the same hotel, dates and guests; every difference is said next to it. Both totals go on one tax basis when the data states the tax, and the answer says what each price includes.
- Only public codes. We try promo codes the hotel advertises publicly, never private ones.
- We never read Booking.com. The Booking.com price comes from the traveller, through their assistant.
- We never take bookings or payments. The traveller books on the hotel’s own website.
- The same rules for every hotel. No hotel can pay for a better answer or a better place.
- One stay at a time. Checks are for travellers. Each connection and each conversation can check a traveller’s number of hotels and dates; bulk or automated copying of prices is refused (Terms of use).
- Only real reports count. A price an assistant reports is shared with other travellers only when it comes from a real assistant conversation that ran our check and fits the hotel’s own price history.
Privacy
An assistant sends only the stay, the guests and the prices; never the conversation, a name or contact details. What we keep and for how long: Privacy policy.
